Not every struggling reader needs the same support. Before recommending any service, I want to understand your child — their history, their strengths, their specific challenges, and what has or hasn’t worked before. Every new student begins with a Spark Assessment so we can build the right plan from the start.
Early Literacy Learners (PreK – Grade 3)
Students who are building foundational reading skills and may be falling behind their peers. They may have some phonics gaps, emerging phonemic awareness, or simply need more structured practice than the classroom provides. These students do not necessarily have a diagnosis.
Best fit:
- The Sprout Package
- The Ember Group Package
Struggling Readers (Grades K – 8)
Students with moderate reading difficulties who need targeted, consistent intervention. They may have been identified as “at risk,” have an IEP or 504, or simply haven’t responded to general classroom instruction. A formal dyslexia diagnosis may or may not be present.
Best fit:
- The Trellis Package
- The Ivy Package
Students with Dyslexia (All Ages, K – Grade 8)
Students with a confirmed or suspected dyslexia diagnosis who need intensive, structured literacy intervention. These students require an explicit, systematic, multisensory approach — not general tutoring. Progress is measurable, but it takes time and consistency.
Best fit:
- The Ivy Package
- Wilson Intensive (for families ready to commit to full program fidelity)
Wilson Intensive Candidates
Students with a confirmed dyslexia diagnosis whose families are prepared to commit to the full Wilson Reading Program protocol: four sessions per week, 45 minutes per session, sustained over a minimum of one academic year. This is the gold standard of dyslexia intervention — and it requires genuine commitment from both the student and the family to work.
Not sure which path is right for your child? Every student begins with a Spark Assessment. We figure it out together.
